The Monday Hassle Pile

When I taught only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I set up a "hassle pile" throughout the week to deal with on Mondays, which probably are not the best days to deal with issues. After the weekend is likely the busiest time for most customer service lines. But I had some things I needed to deal with, mostly related to my travel, and they needed to get finished fast! Last night I dreamt that I got to the airport in Marrakesh and there was no one there to meet me. I didn't know what to do. My fear factor was in high gear when I woke up, and it was not at all tempered by the first email that grabbed my attention this morning. The travel group in Morocco hadn't been able to make the charge on my credit card. Chase had sent me a fraud warning and declined the payment. Oh, no! I'm leaving a week from today! I got that straightened out and then spent an hour on the phone with Bank of America to make sure the same thing didn't happen there (which it did -- twice). I had broken up the payment on two credit cards, but I may end up having to put it all on the Chase one. I'm not sure how many times the tour company will try before giving up, and I don't want to find myself without ground transportation or accomodations for half my trip!

In the midst of handling that, I have been confirming fall and summer classes and getting those set up. I've been pretty lazy since finishing my crazy fall schedule, and I can't afford to keep up my slothy pace. Time to kick it into gear. My second-eight-weeks spring class starts the week after I return, and I'll be back to scoring essays too. I probably should have been making more productive use of the past few weeks, but what can I say? I was tired! I'm also paying all my bills ahead before I go, gathering my tax info to drop off with an accountant, and about fifteen other things, of which I have completed maybe five. It looks like I'll have a Tuesday hassle pile too!
