Pearls Really Do Go with Everything

This weather has been crazy! Yesterday's high was about sixty, and today it was eighty, which I didn't know when I got dressed early this morning. I put on a half-decent pair of sweatpants (if that's actually a thing) and a long-sleeved t-shirt, both in shades of gray. I put on my watch and thought about earrings. My go-to pair lately has been black pearls. Is it silly to wear pearls with sweats? Maybe, but they matched. The pearls were good, but I was seriously overheating in the clothes. I took a box down to donate then put several other boxes in my storage unit. After that, I did something that I really don't like to do anymore: shop for clothes.

The sales are great right now, so I didn't spend a lot of money. Also, I had a few things to return, so I spend even less. When I got home and tried everything on, one pair of pants and one shirt fit; the other pair of jeans and two shirts were too small -- at extra-large. It was so discouraging! I'm not going shopping again. I'll go through my closet again tomorrow and find a few more things that will work. Maybe I can find some loose, flowy clothes on my trip. I suppose the upside of that is when I lose weight, I can have them taken in, as opposed to if I bought them when I was at a smaller size and then outgrew them. Two days before a big vacation is not the time to be worried about weight and clothing size. And my youngest son and his girlfriend are coming up to visit tonight and tomorrow, and I had already told him we'd go to a new place I found a few months ago that has great burgers.

My hope is that my trip, with all the walking I'll be doing, will give me a little jumpstart on losing weight. Whether it does or not, I can't mess around with this anymore. After next week, that is.
