TGIT

Thursday is kind of my Friday; I don't teach on Fridays but lately have had a lot to do. Currently, I'm all caught up on my grading and planning, so I'm taking a three-day weekend! Between the construction on the house, my crazy workload, and the hurricane, I haven't really had a weekend since August. All those mundane things like catching up on laundry and other cleaning have never held greater appeal to me than they do now. Not having to get up and go anywhere -- or brave tall stacks of papers -- sounds like the best thing ever. (I do have a conference call at 10:00, but if I want to talk in my pajamas I can although I'm pretty sure I'll be dressed by then.) If it's a nice day, I may even go to the beach for a walk and some sunshine.

Earlier, as I was driving amidst a lot of really bad drivers, I wrote a haiku about them that I was going to use as tonight's blog post. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. I like a haiku as much as the next gal. Unfortunately, I wrote it only in my head, not on paper, and I don't remember it. I suppose, given the context, it's good I didn't write it on paper. That would have make me as bad a driver as those around me. Maybe I'll do a haiku tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to start my weekend, which really just means I'll put on my pajamas, have a bite, and curl up on the sofa. Hey, I didn't say it would be an exciting weekend.
