Rain, Glorious Rain!

For the first time since I returned to Florida a week and a half ago, we had rain today. And not just a burst of rain that ran off the scorched ground, but a nice soaking storm that went on for several hours (and is continuing now). I know many parts of the country are experiencing drought. We, on the other hand, had been having more rain than I ever remember in a single year since I moved here -- up until last month. The ground has been hard and dry, and dust and grime have been coating everything. Now the air is fresh and the world is shiny, or at least it will be when the rain finishes up and the sun comes back out. (I just stepped onto my porch to check it out and was greeting by a lightning bolt. I'll wait a little while longer.)

I honor of the rain and freshness, I ate watermelon for dinner, perhaps not the healthiest meal but certainly I could have made a worse choice. I'm hoping that the washing-away by the rain has taken my funky mood with it; I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning!
