Rush

I have to write now, not so much because I have a lot to say but because I have a lot to do. I realized this morning that my workbag -- which I was planning to use as a carry-on -- exceeds the maximum size allowed by the airlines. I hadn't even packed my suitcase! (It's almost packed now.) I don't want to go. I have a bad feeling about this trip, so I'm going to blame my procrastination on that. Before I leave, I need to find a new carry-on bag, fax a few documents, meet with my young associate to give him some specifics about cat care, unload the dishwasher, handwash the dishes that I have used since last night, gather the trash to put out, and those are just the things I can think of right now.

Five hours later . . . everything is ready (except for the dishes). Suitcase is in the car and I'm leaving home in an hour and a half. Thunder is rumbling in the distance and I have a 7:30 flight; I hope the storms don't interfere with my travel. Shoot! I just remembered a few last minute tasks I need to do for my volunteer group. Well, I have plenty of time -- but I need to get on it right away. Until we meet again . . .
