The Well-Traveled Penny

Stuck in the ridges under my hatchback is a penny. I notice it every time I open the hatch, but I decided several months ago to just let it ride. And ride it has. It's probably traveled more in the last five or six months than many people. I know it's taken three trips to Winter Park, one to Disney, at least one to Cocoa Beach, one to Amelia Island, and many to downtown Jacksonville, Riverside, Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Neptune Beach. Oh, and I forgot about Huguenot Park, one of the driving beaches near Jacksonville. I can't remember if it's heads or tails up, but I've come to think of it as kind of my lucky penny, and while I'm sure it was there long before I noticed, now I always check to see if it's flown off or still accompanies me on my journeys.

Before long I won't be able to hold my travel lust in check and I will be taking longer trips, some with my car and some without. There's a good chance the penny will soon see some interstate adventures.
