So Far, So Good

This year is shaping up to be a good one if today is any indication. I know; one day isn't really enough to tell. I've been getting my walks in every day but one although today's was a bit shorter. My feet hurt. The right one still hasn't completely healed, and the doctor said it would take about six to eight months for me to reach maximum recovery, which doesn't mean it will be perfect but hopefully means it will be better than before the surgery. Some days I think it's better; other days not so much. But I digress.

I'm not usually a big fan of the Scyfi channel, but yesterday and today they've been showing back-to-back episodes of The Twilight Zone. I've really been enjoying those. My son's friend came over today and the three of us watched that for a while, switched over the the NHL American Classic game, and played Scrabble. I made a pot of New Mexican Pork Stew and some rice. We had a nice meal together and then they went to the park -- in the rain -- to play basketball and tennis while I made a pie. When they came back, they ate the rest of the stew and rice, and nearly all the pie. This made me happy as a clam, and they were pretty happy too.

Now they've gone out for the evening and I'm home relishing the quiet and solitude. Today has been a great mix of all things good. I can handle that for the next 364 days (and beyond).
