Every day for the past two weeks, increasingly in the last several days, my email box is filled with reminders that it's almost Christmas. Since I've been experiencing a combination of busy-ness, "blusiness", and laziness, I don't need to be reminded of everything I have left to do, especially because Christmas is coming five days early at our house. I'm very disappointed that I didn't finish all of the cardigans I planned to make, as well as my other crafting. Tomorrow (or maybe later tonight) I'll sew the buttons on my granddaughters sweaters. Oddly, the only other handmade gift I finished was a scarf for my ex-husband. (He is driving down with my oldest son and granddaughters. I asked my youngest son if he thought it was weird I was making his dad a gift. "No, Mom. It's not weird. It's nice. He will be here when we do our gift exchange, so I thought it would be good to have a gift for him.) And scarves are easy. Cardigans are much more complicated.
On a side note, the secret is out about The Beautiful Place (I wrote about last night). Our local paper ran a story today about the traffic problem caused by so many people coming out to look at the light displays. You have to love the irony. Of course, now that the location has appeared in the paper, along with pictures, the traffic will only get worse. I don't care how long it takes to get out there; when my granddaughters are here, the whole family is riding out to enjoy it together. Maybe we should take snacks.
