Finding Happiness in Unusual Places

This morning I discovered a blog that's held my interest on and off all day. Maybe you've heard of the knitting guy. He was homeless and started knitting bears; the bears apparently became quite popular and now he isn't homeless. I don't know the details (I haven't read that far back yet), and instead of telling you, I'll share the link. After all, it's his story to tell. Here is where you'll find him: https://madmanknitting.wordpress.com/

I love stories like this guy's, where the underdog wins. And the best part is that he seems to also be a wonderful person, hopeful and optimistic in the face of (sometimes great) obstacles. He has been touched by generosity, and in addition to publicly thanking those who have reached out to help him, he promotes a philosophy of kindness and peace -- cliche, perhaps, but increasingly rare in these times. I would encourage you to follow his blog -- and his life -- and, if you're in a position to do so, donate a few dollars to help him on his mission. I am going to give a little. Isn't it nice when we help each other fulfill our dreams?
