Three Dog Day

My son and his girlfriend came over this mornng and brought their dog, who is my dog's child. My youngest son has the dad dog. While we (humans) went out to brunch, the dogs stayed at home, free to roam as they liked. I was a little worried, but when we returned from our family Easter meal, everything was intact and the house was clean. Well, it was as clean as I had left it. I don't mean that the dogs did anything beyond behaving.

Brunch was a bit of a disappointment. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the meal was expensive and the restaurant was nice. I've been there several times before and have always been impressed with the quality and preparation of the food. Today was different, perhaps because the food was served buffet style. I know it's hard to keep everything fresh and delicious when it's going out at different times. There wasn't the huge variety I had hoped for either. I don't care about all you can eat; I like a buffet so I can taste a little bit of several dishes. I'm not a big fan of breakfast foods, and there wasn't a huge variety of other items.

My sons and one son's girlfriend and I had a nice family time. The brothers had their usual crazy weirdness, and all of us laughed and joked. And when we got home, the dogs had behaved. Overall, I'd say that was pretty good.
