Well, really I'm going to Winter Park to visit my son, so I shouldn't make it sound like it's all about Macy's -- even if that's my favorite place to shop and we don't have one in Jacksonville. I don't need to shop for much; I could use a blouse to match a pair of Pilazzo pants I bought. (I guess that's what they're called.) Maybe, in addition to visiting Macy's, we'll go to the water park, although I'm not sure how close I want to get to any theme park on spring break.
My son's apartment complex has three pools, one just outside his door. The weather in Florida has gone from winter to summer in a hurry. I feel like a pasty white whale, but his pool is as good a place as any to start on my tan. He mentioned, when he called to invite me, that his girlfriend may come up for a day or two while I'm there and we can head to Cocoa Beach -- yet another place I really don't want to be for spring break. I'm not a spring break Scrooge, but I loathe crowds, and have a particular dislike of drunken college-student crowds. Maybe I am a Scrooge.
Even if all we do is sit around his apartment together, I'll be happy to see my son. And go to Macy's, of course.
