I'm Melting!

No, it's not because of the heat, although it was nearly ninety degrees here today. (That's going to last only another day; Friday's high is forecast to be fifty-four.) I finally redeemed the massage gift card my sons' girlfriends got me for Christmas. I went all out and got a hot stone massage, and it was wonderful. I could have had two regular massages for what that one cost, but I'd never tried the hot stones before. I was thinking as I lay there that it would be impossible to describe the sensations. Of course, that won't stop me from trying. The dimly lit room, the silken sliding of warm oiled stones across my skin, the faintest scent of something woodsy, and the barely perceptible sound of flutes and drums combined for the most sensual experience. (I suppose if I didn't want to leave out taste, I could also mention the lemon water I drank before and after.) In my opinion, a great massage should leave one feeling stoned or freshly . . . um . . . made love to. Or both. That's how I feel right now, and the computer is fenging with my shui, so I'll leave it there for now. Off to enjoy the afterglow.
