Tonight my granddaughter and I were going to hang out while her dad went over to my middle son's house. We spent all day in Fernandina Beach (after I attended a 7:30 a.m. assembly for one of my boards) and met my middle son and his girlfriend for dinner at a nice restaurant. I can't remember when I last went to a restaurant that even took reservations! I had a Groupon, so that defrayed the cost a little, but it was still expensive.
Anyway, we just got home a little while ago, and my granddaughter took her book and went to bed. It seems we wore her out. If you had seen how many Shirley Temples she drank with dinner, you'd be surprised she was ready for bed. Dinner was fantastic, and I have been up since 4:00 a.m., so it's just as well that she's tired. We'll have time to hang out tomorrow night.
