So Soon!

Never before have I been completely ready for Christmas this early. Now, even though I don't have a tree up, all my presents are wrapped and ready to travel. I wanted to put up at least a small tree, but since I'll be setting one up at my mom's house a few days before Christmas, it seemed like a waste of time, effort and money to do one at my house too. Instead, I stacked everything on a corner shelf in my dining room. The colorful wrapping paper provides a nice holiday look. I suppose I could string up some ornaments on the shelf too. I keep a strand of white lights in my dining room window year 'round, so they help brighten things up too.

Despite my gift-preparedness, I haven't done much else. Most years by this time I would have baked at least three kinds of cookies to distribute; I've baked nothing. Since I'm back to gluten-free, and most of my friends and family members are trying to eat light, I just don't want to go crazy with the baked goods. I'll pack my supplies up and take them with me. I will bake for Christmas; my granddaughters aren't dieting. I bought a kit this weekend to make Gingerbread Ninjas. That will be a fun activity for me and my older granddaughter -- and maybe one or more sons too.

Looking at my stack of gifts, I think I may have gone overboard. But the gifts are bought and they look nice. Most of them are for my granddaughters and nothing was particularly expensive. Darn it! I just rememberd something that hasn't been wrapped yet, and I'm not sure where it is. I guess I'm not entirely ready after all. Time to go on a search mission.
