A Day of Dreaming

Today was the first in my week of out-of-the-box adventures to get me out of my rut. Instead of actively doing something, I daydreamed -- and planned a cruise. I'm not sure if or when I'll really take my cruise, but I spent some time deciding when I might like to go (my birthday) and where (Mexico and parts of the Caribbean I haven't been to), and then I got online and priced it out. It's surprisingly inexpensive (relative to what I thought it would cost). Just as I was sending a link to my youngest son, who is a veteran cruiser, having taken a Royal Caribbean adventure last year and embarking on another next week, he called me. We spent an hour on the phone discussing the finer points of different voyages. It may sound silly, but it was a lot of fun.

My time spent thinking about something other than my overwhelming responsibilities left me feeling much happier and lighter. So far my mission is a great success. Maybe I don't need to take a cruise after all.
