Resting

Okay, so it's not perfect. But my back yard looks a lot better than it did three days ago! This evening I spent a while outside enjoying the fruits of my labors. I've never set up anything in the yard before (other than the hammock) and I really like this little conversation area. As you look at the picture, try to ignore my neighbor's crappy fence, as well as the newer unmatched piece that he thought he had installed as some kind of favor to me. He still thinks the crappy fence is mine, and that three-panel section fell down during the hurricane. At some point I will go over and fill him in (on the fact that the previous owners put up a fence and attached it to their crappy old one, resulting in a big rat-king-type affair).
Over the past three days, I have spent at least 22 hours working outside and going to home stores to buy supplies. I'll add more pictures later; this is just what I am enjoying most tonight. I love my back yard, so much in fact that I hardly ever do anything to spruce up my front yard. Out front, I do just enough to keep my HOA off my back. Now, though, since my sprinkler system is fixed, I may make more of an effort to make it look nice. My general philosophy is that I don't spend time in my front yard, so why bother to pretty it up? But it would be nice to pull into my driveway and have some lovely plants greet me. I'll work on that.

(As an afterthought, I will add that these are the chairs I have mentioned before. They are called "orbital lounges" and drop you straight into heaven when you sit down! The beige one is fairly new, and when I got it on Overstock it was the only color available. The brown one I have had for three or four years. I can't sing their praises highly enough! Buy one! And, no, I'm not getting a commission; I just want you to be comfortable.)
