Just Bring Me the Bottle

I had a hair appointment this evening -- touching up my color -- and the receptionist always asks if I'd like something to drink, like a glass of wine. Tonight I said, "You should probably just bring me the bottle." Of course, she knew I was kidding; I settled for a glass of white, not my usual choice but enjoyable. A glass of wine, a head massage, and no more gray -- what better way to end a busy day? It's eight at night and I just got home. I left at 8:30 this morning to get to work early (all the better to grade papers) and have been on the go all day. My hair appointment was a relaxing oasis in a desert of grading and writing essay prompts. I should get back to doing some work tonight, but I'm not going to. Instead, I'm going to play with my little dog and cat, maybe watch some TV, and get to bed early. My class tomorrow starts at 1:00 p.m., so I'll have plenty of time to work before then. That's my last actual class session. The few finals I'm giving are next week, and then this hellish semester will be over (except for the last scraps of grading and totaling up final grades). After that, I won't know what to do with myself -- but I'm sure I can think of something.
