When it comes to politics, I like to think I'm not cynical. However, remaining an idealist becomes increasingly difficult. As if I haven't wanted to vomit since around 10:30 Tuesday night, I'm getting more nauseous by the second, watching those in government completely reverse their stances against each other and "make nice." I do get that they have to do it, but to me it means that they were posturing either then or now. I suppose which side of that one takes depends on whether his or her candidate won the election. Maybe. I see Obama and Clinton as being more genuine than Orangey, but that may be because I'm a Democrat, or it may be because I haven't seen Obama and/or Clinton in actual acting roles. I suppose to some extent they're all acting, as most of us have to do in our public lives, the difference being that some of us have less public lives.
I swear I won't keep talking about it, but as one of my friends posted yesterday on Facebook, "I'm tired of people telling me how to feel." I'm not ready to "just get along." And the worst of all are the politicians who denounced Orange-man, some not even speaking his name, and are now falling all over themselves to get into his good graces. Oh, Lord! I thought it would be better when the election was over. It's not. I need to stop watching news.
