"Oh, what a beautiful morning! Oh, what a beautiful day!" I can't remember when I've seen such a gorgeous weekend! Yesterday I was out in it nearly all day. Today a small bunch of us met for brunch, an early celebration of my middle son's birthday. The brunch was a disappointment, but we had a wonderful time together and the rest of the crew seemed to be happy enough with the food. I was annoyed because the buffet didn't include several of the things it was supposed to, including several vegetarian entrees that I hope my son and his girlfriend would enjoy. Still, we all found plenty we did like, and it was nice to just get together.
I came home and immediately changed clothes with the intent of getting back outside and doing more yard work. (My son and his girlfriend invited all of us over after brunch for "football time", but I semi-politely declined. I don't like football, and I didn't want to waste such a lovely day inside in front of the television.) I did a good bit of chopping and opened my windows to let the fresh air through but was soon overcome by some allergen or another. I could not stop sneezing! I sneezed until my nose bled, and then I decided it was time for a Benedryl. That meant I was headed for a nice, long nap. I didn't fight it. As it turned out, I slept for only about a half hour, waking up a little disoriented. Fortunately, I have nothing that needs to be done today, so I'm just going to indulge in what's left of this cool, cloudness day. What a delight!
