Comcast Sucks
I would be surprised if I hadn't used this title before. This is the longest I've been without internet service. If it were just a matter of entertainment, I would care less. But email (and a few other forms of technology) is the only way I have to stay in touch with my students. This becomes especially important for my classes that end on Wednesday. I have to enter the grades almost immediately after the session is over, as the next eight-week session starts one week from today. I'll have a chance to get online briefly before my classes tomorrow, but I doubt I'll have time to accomplish all I need to. Comcast's latest "scheduled resolution time" is noon tomorrow. At least they're being more realistic now. I honestly think that every time I call in, the customer service agent du jour just makes up a time. Regardless, not having a connection interferes with my ability to do my job. When it's back up, I'm going to call again and insist I receive a credit for the days I wasn't connected. Why should I pay to be inconvenienced? All of our other utility providers have stepped up and fixed their respective services. That's amazing! Every house has wiring, so the fact that our electric company could take care of getting everyone's power back on before Comcast could fix its measly connections says something good about the electric company and pathetic about Comcast. Even Sprint, a company with a less-than-sterling reputation has maintained services. Without that, I'd be totally screwed. If Comcast hasn't delivered by the time I get home from work tomorrow around 3:30, I'm going to the local service center and raising some hell.
