The Fruits of Today's Labor

This will be short, and I will post only one picture. As happy as I am to be saving money and learning new handy things, I am bone-tired. My friend and helper gets on my nerves, especially after three full days together in close quarters. I like my alone time! She is judgy, bossy, and gossipy -- all things I hope I'm not. Today I had a hard time getting motivated, but eventually I did, and while I was waiting for renovation inspiration to strike, I did some "work-work". We got the last two cabinets and the range vent down and painted the entire room. Did I mention that, even though my helper said the washer and dryer were good to go after she had insisted on pulling them out to clean and replace the vent, the washer leaked all over the floor when I ran it last night and the dryer does not work? So, yeah, that happened. She repeatedly said it had nothing to do with anything we had done, and she took my wet laundry home with her to dry and bring back tomorrow. That's nice, I guess.

So here is what the kitchen looks like today, when nothing more is likely to happen until tomorrow. I like it -- a big change, but it's good. Also, this isn't the best picture. Maybe you can see that it's coming together.
