I'm a big Danny Trejo fan, but even he -- in character -- would have a hard time blazing a trail in my back yard right now. I pay someone to cut and trim the front (because of my militant HOA), but I usually do the back on my own. However, I've been busy! The last time it was cut was at the beginning of July when my oldest son was visiting and did it while I was at work. My youngest son was here today, and he really tried. I have an electric mower, and the grass was so high that the circuit breaker kept tripping from the power load. He asked if I had a machete, and I love that he pronounced it the Spanish way. I don't know where anything is in my house right now. I might have a machete, but there is so much stuff jammed into my garage that if I do, I don't know where it is.
Instead, he found a different kind of tool -- I don't know what it's called -- with a long handle and a flat serrated blade. It worked a little. The plan was that he'd chop with that for a while and go back to mowing. But it was suddenly late in the day, and he and his girlfriend had to get back to Winter Park, so the lawn now has a weird "half-shaved" look. I think he got it low enough with the ? tool that I can mow tomorrow. Also tomorrow, my friend and I are doing the drywall that my contractor never showed up to do. That should be interesting. I'm not sure if I said so yesterday, but the tile is finished and beautiful. When the drywall is finished, it will be cabinet time; I'm hoping that will happen next week.
Life is pretty quiet now that "the kids" have gone. My little dog is worn out, and so am I. Nap time.
