23 Steps Forward, 8.5 Steps Back

Or maybe it would be the opposite. The "steps" are pounds. I finally got the nerve up to get back on the scale after at least a month. I think the last time I weighed myself before today, which was at least a month after the previous time, I was up seven pounds from the twenty-three I had lost. Maybe I'm building muscle; I've certainly been doing plenty of exercise in the form of minor construction work and painting. Probably the biggest issue has been not cooking healthy foods for myself. I've been eating in restaurants and "enjoying" ready-made meals (like Lean Cuisine), which I know isn't especially nourishing, but it's difficult to prepare food in a kitchen-in-progress. I keep trying to look ahead, beyond the next few days, when I will have everything in its place. I'll be able to restock my cabinets, put out my most-used appliances, and best of all I will have my sink back. The countertops will go in on Wednesday, but I'll have to wait until Friday to get the plumbing done, unless I can find someone who will come later in the day on Thursday. My goal is to make it to the weekend. That shouldn't be too hard. Then I can get back on track, just in time for the holidays! That wasn't a problem last year. I'll just have to work extra hard.
