After using the title of a Frank Sinatra song as my title yesterday, I've decided to give myself a blog challenge: For the next month, all of my titles will be song titles. Either they will be related to the content of the posts or I will write about the song. I'm using Sinatra titles for the rest of this week. I said yesterday that "Look at Me Now!" is one of my favorites. I can only say about any of his songs that it's one of my favorites; I have so many. The song of today's title is pretty good, but I'm not sure it's in my top five. However, it does line up with my post.
My friend and I have decided on our travel destination: Santa Fe. I'm so excited to be going back, and she has never been. I've been three times, each in a different season, and this will be my first trip in the spring. I know it will be so beautiful there, and not yet packed with tourists. The thought of introducing my friend to the wonders of my favorite city (that I haven't lived in) thrills me! I had a wonderful time on my last trip, the first on my own, but having someone to share it with will make it all the more fun. (She's never been anywhere in the Southwest, and will no doubt be blown away by the topography, which is almost like a foreign-planet landscape to those of us who have lived our entire lives in the East.)
I'm not sure exactly how we'll work out the details. Most likely, we will meet at the airport in Albuquerque, but maybe we'll meet in between. She will be flying out of Baltimore or Washington, and can probably get a direct flight. It's hard to find a flight to anywhere from Jacksonville that doesn't have at least one stop. So she may not actually "fly with me" (as the song says) but she will vacation with me. Since she's never been there, I'm choosing our accommodations; I want to stay where I stayed last time, the beautiful little place just outside the downtown square with fireplaces in the casitas. One last note: I'm almost giddy with the thought of sitting in "my" window booth with my friend, enjoying the delicious cooking at The Plaza Cafe and people watching while we eat and talk. This is going to be the best time ever!
