When do things change? Even when it is gradual, there has to be a single point when things go from being okay to not okay. When does one fall out of love? When does one's body or mind become unhealthy? I wonder about this a lot -- for all the good it does. Of course, it's idle comtemplation. But what if it wasn't? If we knew that something bad was going to happen, would we change our thoughts or behaviors, or would we roll the dice and hope for the best? I think most of us understand certain risks associated with our words and actions, but many of us think we'll be lucky and avoid the consequences. For some, it works out that way; for others, not. If we did know for sure what the future held, when (or if) we would cross that line, would we continue living the way we live or would we change?
Pardon my philosophic ramblings. I realize these are things that can never be known. One change may lead to a different path, but there's no guarantee that path will be a better one. I believe that most of us do the best we can, and the smartest thing we can do is to move forward from where we are, without regard for what's already done.
