Because I've Lost My Mind

God help me! I swear I just logged on to look at yarn on eBay, but the first two items that popped up -- ending in less than two minutes -- were multiple skeins of my favorite wool, Paton's Classic. I got a great deal, but I have no business buying more yarn. My young friend kind of planted a seed (or perhaps gave an already-planted one new life), saying that I should sell my crocheted items. The type of scarf I made for him (from that same yarn) works up fairly quickly and looks really nice. One concern I have is that by the time I get a sufficient stash to sell at our local art fair, the weather will be warmer and people won't want warm scarves. But I say that every year, and of course winter always comes around again; if I finish them now I'll have plenty for next fall.

I have no idea what goes into getting a table at Art Walk, but it's about time I checked into it. I do have a small stash of baby blankets and a few other items, but not enough to set up shop. I think I'll do best (in warm months, which here is most of the year) with cotton or cotton-blend items -- baby sweaters, lighter-weight scarves and blankets, and maybe tank tops. I do have a ton of cotton yarn also, the "handicrafter" kind for dishcloths and such as well as the softer kind for apparel. And you should see my patterns folder! It takes up more room, I'm sure, than anything else on my computer.

Just think; if I start selling items I could write off my yarn and supplies. That would be nice. I'm feeling very creative all of a sudden.

(P.S. to my lil cuz: Don't worry. I'm still putting a box of yarn together to send you!)
