I just finished an eight-hour scoring shift, and while I would like to walk away -- and especially look away -- from my computer, I wanted to post first. I'm not sure I'll have another chance to write tonight as I am facing that most daunting of tasks, finding a first-day outfit. I always put some thought into what to wear on my first day of class, but this year it is more difficult for two reasons: one, I haven't worn "real clothes" for so long that I'm not sure what I have and what fits. (My go-to outfit since my foot surgery has been a t-shirt my son gave me with his band's logo and a pair of loose knee-length workout pants. The only shoes I've worn are sneakers, and that's just been for the past two weeks. I suppose I could wear sneaks to class, and indeed I may have to. That will make choosing an outfit even harder. Two, I feel that I need to compensate in a big way for missing the first day of class, and good fashion can bolster my confidence.
My nails are done and my hair is good. (I did one nail at a time between essays.) My class supplies are together in a tote bag on my dining room table, with the exception of the class roster, which I will print out as soon as I finish writing this. My car has plenty of gas, and I have coffee and half and half. Tonight I will find an at-least-acceptable outfit, and tomorrow I will head out to face what may be a hostile group. As I probably said before, I'd be pissed if I showed up for a Saturday morning class and the instructor wasn't there. I'm going to believe they are a gracious and forgiving bunch, put it behind me, and move on. I think pink is the best outfit color for doing that.
