As Good a Time As Any

My son has training today so he couldn't take me to the airport, and I'm not sure why I chose such an inconvenient flight time to return home. I think I was so blinded by the great deal on the plane ticket that I didn't consider the departure and arrival. Fortunately, my best friend is taking me to the airport, but she had to work a few hours this morning. My son dropped me off at Wegman's to wait. I like Wegman's -- a lot -- but I feel a little sef-conscious rolling my suitcase and toting my carry-on bag through the store. It's a beautiful morning, so I came out to the porch off the Marketplace Cafe and decided it's as good a time as any to write my blog. I'm also trying to soak up as much cool breeze as possible; I have a feeling there won't be many cool breezes in Jacksonville any time soon.

The virus I came down with yesterday seems to be running its course, not quickly enough for me but at least it doesn't seem to be serious. I dosed myself up on so much cough syrup and cold medicine before we left my son's house that I made myself sick. I was literally gagging on the way here and felt like the meds were burning a hole through my stomach lining. A cup of coffee and mini-danish later, and I'm much better. Early tomorrow morning I'm seeing my doctor to get clearance for my foot surgery, so if I'm still feeling crappy I'll get him to give me something.

When I finish writing I'll start a list of what I want to get accomplished before my foot surgery. I got the great idea a few days ago that I wanted to repaint my living room, and haven't been able to shake it. (I watched a lot of HGTV over the past few weeks.) It's probably more important that I get at least my living room and bedroom decluttered so I won't be falling over stuff. Still, it wouldn't hurt to choose a paint color and have something to look forward to. I'm feeling like it would be a fun novelty to be over-organized, so I think I'll buy a piece of posterboard and write tasks on Post-Its. I can move them around and even have a "completed" column. Creating that board will be my first task. And now I'm ready to go.
