In a Muu-muu

I thought my sinus and ear infections were going away. I felt great yesterday, which was wonderful as it allowed me to have a great Mother's Day. But when I got up this morning I felt truly lousy; my temperature was 101 and that was about an hour after I had taken cold meds with acetominophen. So I went back to the doctor. I'm not sure that the antibiotic he prescribed on Friday was making me sicker, but it definitely wasn't making me "weller". Sick or not, I absolutely had to go to the tax prep office to get my mom's estate taxes picked up and signed. The paperwork has been there since April 1, and still the taxes weren't done right. I hung around the office while the tax lady finished them up. She's a nice person, and although I wasn't happy to have to wait even longer for the taxes, I didn't mind too much that I had to wait.

I wasn't dressed super-nice, but I had put on "real clothes" to go to the doctor and tax offices. Last week, on a thrift-shop adventure with my friend, I had found a great knit dress. It's sleeveless with ruching at the shoulders, black with random white dots -- they look like stars in a dark sky -- and tropical fish swimming at the bottom. It's weird and comfy, things I look for in stay-at-home sick-day wear. It isn't quite a muu-muu, but it's as close as I've ever gotten. And, really, it looks okay. It's right on that line of what I would and wouldn't wear in public.
