Nothing is actually broken, I'm sure, but my vigorous badminton play has left me seriously sore. It sounds so silly, to hurt after playing a child's game. But children are generally more active than I am. My goal is to keep moving and getting exercise each day, and today it's hard! I've been working in the yard on and off, and after I write this I'm going to plop down on the floor and do some good stretchy yoga.
There was a time in my life when I would have judged someone at my level of fitness, not necessarily out loud or harshly, but I'm sure I have wondered why people didn't try to get in better shape. Now I understand that as you get older and/or have more body pain, it is so much more difficult to get into a fitness routine. My usual MO is to do way too much, be very sore, and give up until the next time. This time, I'm putting a little twist on that. I did too much, I am very sore, but rather than giving up, I'm using the pain as a guide to show me what muscles I used (that apparently I don't use often) and then I'll keep exercising them. It might not be the best way to start but it is a way to start.
