What I Didn't Know

What I don't know about many things could fill volumes, but I'm talking specifically about getting older. When I was young, I thought getting older sucked just because of getting older -- wrinkles, sagging, etc. I could deal with those issues, as well as random hairs and even getting fatter, if my body didn't hurt. I don't remember anyone mentioning that part, or maybe I just wasn't listening. After all, why would I care about how I would feel when I got old while I was young.

So this makes me wonder whether some people have more "old age body pain" than others, or if some just complain more. Is it possible to get older without having hurt parts? I wonder if staying in shape keeps you feeling better, or if older people who stay in shape just work through the pain. Is it luck or is it a result of paying more attention as you age? Those are all things I still don't know. My body is pretty good but it does hurt. I'm not complaining, just observing and wondering.
