Destination: Albuquerque

While I've been through the Albuquerque airport several times, it's always been on my way to someplace else. I've never seen anything of the city. Today, on my last day in New Mexico, I'm heading down to the more reasonable (and breathable) elevations of the city. My flight doesn't leave until 4:30, and I need to drop off my rental car, but it's only 9:30 local time now; I have all day.

I don't plan to go all over the place. I'll visit the Old Town area and, if weather permits, go to the zoo and botanical gardens. The only other places on my list are some sites associated with Breaking Bad, but after yesterday's uber-adventure, I'm not inclined to go far off the beaten path.

Late tonight I will be back in Florida, spending one night with my son before going home. On Thursday I have a voluteer commitment, on Friday I'm working all day, and of course, there are always articles to finish. When I first arrived, I thought a week might not be long enough to visit. As it turned out, a week was perfect. While I've had a wonderful time and met so many nice people, I'm ready to be home.
