Light and Airy

The weather is beautiful today after last night's pounding rain (I forgot to say in yesterday's entry that I was glad the bridge had been fixed because I was driving across it in a blinding storm), and tomorrow is supposed to be even better. I had some good topic ideas but they were heavier than I feel like being now. My internet connection went out in the middle of a scoring shift today, so I ran away from home for a few hours. Actually, I went to pick my youngest son up downtown; he had spent the night at his brother's house and was going to get a ride home this evening, but since I wasn't doing anything anyway, I thought we'd get in a few more hours of car shopping. (I'm looking for a car for him, not for me.) It's proving difficult. We even got pulled into a scam ad on Craig's List, a car that was "ready for shipment from Kentucky" because the owner was "an oceanographer by trade" and out to sea right now. Yeah, right. The ad is gone now, but I wonder how many people's information they got.

We have a few leads and I'm off work tomorrow, so we'll go look. I'm feeling lazy. Both of the vehicles we are looking at tomorrow are an hour away, and I'm tired. On the upside, once I find my son a car, I won't feel compelled to help him get around -- when he lives two hours away. I should have done this a long time ago, but I didn't so I'm doing it now. My schedule is really busy for the next month -- I am trying to work as much as possible before my vacation -- and I am, on the one hand, wanting to be very selfish with the time I do have and, on the other hand, doing what I feel I should to help my kids. By the time I go to Santa Fe, I will be seriously ready for a vacation. I'm ready now!
